Investing in midwives and listening to their voices!
During the day you will hear from midwives in the field, midwifery leaders from Sweden, global partners and agencies such as International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), WHO, and UNFPA.

Sida and The Swedish Association of Midwives are organizing the event to join the global celebration of the work of midwives. This will be done by demonstrating the impact of midwives, highlighting the importance of investing in midwives, mobilizing and uniting midwives in continued advocacy for high quality midwifery care and gender equality.
The seminar will highlight the historical, current and future importance of midwifery for maternal and child health in the work strengthening SRHR globally. This includes the recognition of the crucial role that midwives play in the quest for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and in the advancement of the 2030 Agenda.
